IDW Joins In-Store Design & Marketing Show

Centaur Communications Ltd has purchased the International Display Week (IDW) exhibition from Retail Visual Merchandising Ltd (RVM) for an undisclosed sum.

IDW 2005 will run alongside the In-Store Design & Marketing Show at Earls Court on 14-16 June 2005. RVM have decided not to run the Retail Interiors Show again.

Calum Taylor, managing director of Centaur Exhibitions comments: "For the last couple of years the industry has been crying out for a single UK exhibition that covers all aspects of the retail environment. Bringing IDW alongside In-Store will achieve this for the first time and will deliver better value for exhibitors as well as creating a better visitor experience."

Andrew Colclough, director of RVM comments: "It has been a pleasure to work with the visual merchandising industry in running IDW over recent years. But the time has come when IDW needs to co-locate with the market leading show for the retail environment. I am sure it will thrive under Centaur’s ownership, particularly as they will be able to invest in significantly more marketing support than RVM was able to afford."

Notes to editors:

Centaur Exhibitions is a division of Centaur Communications Ltd, which is owned by Centaur Holdings PLC.

In-Store Design & Marketing Show launched in 1998 as an exhibition for brand marketers to meet point-of-purchase suppliers. POPAI (UK), the point of purchase trade association, has supported the show since launch. Over the years the show has grown organically to include the other key elements retailers and marketers need to create retail environments that really drive sales. As a result of this evolution the In-Store Design & Marketing Show is now also supported by the Shop Display Equipment Association (sdea) and the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS).
