Centaur launches new interactive advertising awards

Two of Centaur's market-leading weeklies, New Media Age and Marketing Week, have joined forces to launch the first dedicated awards for the interactive marketing and advertising sector.

Nowhere else in the marketing and advertising industry is as exciting as the interactive arena, says NMA editor Michael Nutley. It's the fastest-growing area of the industry, the most innovative, and the most challenging. It's also the area best-equipped to surmount the many problems faced by marketing and advertising in an age of consumer cynicism and media fragmentation.

Centaur is in a unique position to provide for this market need with the strength of New Media Age in the interactive market and the reach of Marketing Week to the traditional marketing audience.

The Interactive Marketing and Advertising Awards will showcase the best uses of the Web, wireless and iTV for marketing and advertising in sectors including finance, automotive, consumer products and services, technology, travel and entertainment with additional categories focusing on the use of specific platforms, including rich media, search, e-mail and viral.

The awards will concentrate on effectiveness, on the results delivered by individual campaigns, in order to allow small companies to compete on an equal footing with larger ones. They will also take into account of creativity, technological innovation, channel integration and use of media. The winners will be standard-bearers for the emerging age of interactive marketing and advertising.

The awards take place on the 10th November at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel. They have achieved strong industry support with current sponsors including AOL, Google, MSN, Reuters and Yahoo!
