Centaur to launch Finance Week

Centaur is to launch the first news weekly for corporate accountants - Finance Week - in November.

The pressure to tighten up accounting standards, following the collapse of Enron and Arthur Andersen, EU-inspired changes to international accounting standards and the relentless City focus on short-term performance are increasing the demands on big companies' finance teams, creating new information needs.

Finance Week will fill this information gap and, for the first time, will give corporate accountants a voice. The magazine is aiming to reach the finance teams at all the UK's major companies. Senior finance staff - financial directors, financial controllers, chief accountants - will qualify for a controlled circulation copy. There will be a major subscription marketing campaign to the rest of the accountancy market.

Finance Week will create editorial and sales opportunities at all levels.

The launch editor will be Sean Brierley and the sales director Mark Eaton. The publisher will be Tim Potter and the magazine will be based at Wells Street. Key roles yet to be filled include news editor, production editor, display ad manager and classified ad manager. We will also be looking for experienced reporters and sales executives.

Publisher Tim Potter says: "This is a rare opportunity to join the launch team for a major new weekly. Initial feedback has been overwhelming positive and Finance Week seems certain to make a big impact. The key criteria we are looking for in hiring our new team is the motivation to break new ground, both editorially and from a sales perspective."

Details of all the vacancies are listed in the vacancies section of the Centaur website. For other inquiries please contact editor Sean Brierley or sales director Mark Eaton on 020 7943 8000.
