Centaur Media launches two further initiatives in the mortgage market and moves into webcasting with Money Marketing TV

January 16th, 2007: Centaur Media, the specialist business publishing and information company, is launching both a magazine and a summit event in the mortgage market this month, complementing its existing operations in the sector. It will also enter the webcasting TV sector with Money Marketing TV.

The increasingly segmented nature of distribution in the mortgage market, where lenders deliver their mortgage products through several different distributors, combined with record levels of lending, makes compelling rationale for the launch of these initiatives.

Mortgage Distributor is a monthly publication focussing on the changing nature of how mortgages are sold, with a particular focus on mortgage packagers, clubs and networks. The publication launches on January 24th. Mortgage providers use their own High Street outlets and mortgage brokers, as well as distributing via clubs and networks, which are formal and informal alliances of brokers. In addition, mortgage providers distribute via mortgage packagers, which act as interfaces between the lenders and the brokers and provide admin functions, taking the burden of paperwork off the lenders.

Mortgage Distributor will be circulated to relevant individuals in all parts of the mortgage industry, including lenders, IFAs, packagers, clubs and networks. It will be edited by Matthew West, an experienced financial services magazine journalist and editor.

The magazine launch coincides with the launch of a major new event, The Mortgage Packager Summit. Taking place in Nice this month from January 24th to 26th this summit brings together the 17 major lenders who deal with packagers and the 75 leading figures from the packaging firms for 2 days of stimulating debate. The Mortgage Packager Summit is a sister event to The Mortgage Summit which takes place in Dubai in April.

The specialist areas of lending continue to outpace the mainstream and this is where we are particularly strong, satisfying demand both for high quality editorial and for face-to-face networking."

Money Marketing TV:

Centaur is also making its first foray into web TV, launching Money Marketing TV (MM TV), whose first regular weekly programme goes out on Thursday January 18th. MM TV will be hosted and produced by Cantos, the online financial broadcaster, and is available via Money Marketing's website (moneymarketing.co.uk).

It will provide a summary of the major weekly news stories and commentary on industry issues delivered by the MM news team with input from the magazine's columnists and industry pundits. Programmes will have up to three sponsors each week and this, says Patrick Ponsford, "gives our advertisers an alternative and more creative way of communicating with their customers".

He adds, "We will use MM TV as a platform to spin out a number of new initiatives such as live debates, pundit interviews and coverage of summits and events. Webcasting is certainly the future as broadband becomes the norm and readers' favourite trade publications have the brand equity, relationships and knowledge to be at the forefront of this development."
